SACRAMENTO, CA – A growing number of Asian American Pacific Islander political leaders and organizations today announced their endorsement of prosecutor Thien Ho in his campaign for Sacramento County District Attorney, including the following:
Sacramento County Assessor Roger Fong (retired)
Sacramento County Supervisor Jimmie Yee (retired)
Elk Grove Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen
Elk Grove City Councilmember Stephanie Nguyen
Elk Grove City Councilmember Darren Suen
Folsom City Councilmember Y.K. Chalamcherla
Sacramento City Unified School Boardmember Darrel Woo
In addition, Thien Ho is endorsed by California AAPI leaders including:
California State Assemblymember Evan Low
California Congressmember Mike Honda (Ret.)
Alameda County Tax Assessor Phong La
Recently, California State Senator Dr. Richard Pan (D-Sacramento) endorsed Ho’s campaign for county district attorney, a critical endorsement as Dr. Pan is chair of the Asian Pacific Islander Legislative Caucus and also is state senator representing Sacramento County. “As a refugee whose family escaped communist Vietnam, Thien Ho personally experienced injustice, poverty and discrimination,” said Senator Richard Pan. “I am proud to endorse Thien Ho for District Attorney because he will be a prosecutor who fights for an equitable justice system for everyone in Sacramento County,” he added.
“With the rise in hate directed towards Asian Americans and other people of color,
Thien brings excellence and an underrepresented voice to a District Attorney’s office
that needs to champion respect, inclusion and equity to make Sacramento’s diverse
communities safe and healthy,” notes Senator Pan.
“I am humbled and honored by endorsements from Asian American and Pacific
Islander leaders who have placed their trust in me to stand shoulder to shoulder with
Asian American community residents on public safety,” said Assistant Chief Deputy
District Attorney Thien Ho of the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office. “As
protecting the public and safety is the number one mission of the DA’s office, it is
critical that AAPIs join with me to have a voice at the table as they adapt to the
evolving environment regarding safety and security,” he added.
